All Saints’ Church Clifton
Mission Statement:

together in

Rejoicing in

Sharing God’s

It is lovely to conduct many Christenings each year (also called Baptisms) and we look forward to welcoming you and your family for a happy service of celebration in this church.
Baptisms are offered in Clifton on the 1st Sunday at 10.30am and the 2nd Sunday at 12 noon and in Southill on the 3rd Sunday at 9am and the 4th Sunday at 12 noon.
To begin your journey of faith, come along to any service and collect your Baptism/Christening Information pack or download the Christening Request Form from the Clifton Homepage website. Return the completed Form to Rev Caren at the Rectory or to a Churchwarden at any service.
Before you choose your service of Baptism, we invite you to attend at least three services with us so that we can get to know you and welcome you into the Christian Faith.
Two services which are particularly suitable for families are: All Age Worship on the 2nd Sunday of each month, which tends to be more informal, and Messy Church on the 4th Sunday of each month, which involves a story, singing and activities for the children to complete, helped by parents and finishing with lunch, all in the Church Hall.
We then invite you to a Baptism Morning, where you will have the opportunity to meet other families making similar enquiries and to book your Baptism time and date. This morning will take place in All Saints Church, Clifton, starting with coffee at 9.30 am and finishing at 11am. You may choose from one of the following dates:
In 2018 - 15th September or 3rd November and
In 2019 – 12th January, 2nd March, 18th May or 6th July.
There is no cost for baptisms/christenings; however, we take a collection during a hymn to help towards the upkeep of the church, heating, lighting costs and its mission. We offer families special time at the end of the service to take photographs around the font or in front of the altar.

Anyone can be baptised/christened at any age, from birth upwards.  The usual number of Godparents is 3, and all must be Christened. More information is available from the Church of England website.
